Hey There
My name is Jen Down. I'm a life and health coach, as well as a bowling coach and a mountain bike coach. I look forward to meeting you, learning about where you want to go next, and devising a plan to help you make that happen!
All About Me
I'm a generalist. I've worn many hats and all those hats help me wear a really great coaching hat. It's a hat that I would love to put to work for you. First, more about me. It is an "about me" page, after all.
I'm a Yankee by birth. I know. Keep reading! Born in a Chicago suburb, I moved to North Texas and have been here the majority of my life. I hate the summers but I love the charm of the South! I own more than 1 pair of cowboy boots and I even know how to ride a horse (and do it really well). I grew up riding horses and bowling. Both are still passions of mine to this day. I'm also an animal lover. I've owned dogs my entire life and don't feel complete unless there's a 4 legged friend around. We have 1 dog and 2 cats. Or the cats have us. I'm not sure some days.
I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home when my 3 boys were young. They were what got me started as a coach. I coached their U6 soccer team and now my youngest son now races mountain bikes and I coach that too.
Coaching has been a constant source of fulfillment for me. I love it when a client finally gets something to click. You can almost see that lightbulb turn on! I celebrate the victories and understand the challenge of replacing old habits that aren't working for you. I'm here for all of it.
See that pic of me on the left? That was after a hard weight lifting
session where I had several new personal bests. I am so proud of myself here! Messy hair and all! I like this picture of me because of how I remember feeling in this picture. I want more of pictures like that. This website is full of pictures that speak to me in some way or another. I love the mountains, the ocean, and being outside (except for Texas summers!).
I used to be much heavier (260+ pounds). With the help of Wegovy, I'm within 10 pounds of my target weight. I understand that no matter what your weight loss journey is, none of it is easy. Losing 90+ pounds has fueled my desire to get stronger, to be a better, faster, all around athlete and to help anyone else who wants those same things. And it all comes down to one day, one choice at a time.
I'm so ready! Are you?
I look forward to meeting you!
